Matthew Robert Johnson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Johnson Family to honor and remember their son, grandson and brother, Matthew Johnson. Matthew played baseball for Urbana during high school and later at FCC. Naturally athletic, Matthew was always playing a sport, whether Ultimate Frisbee in Baker Park, adult semi pro baseball in Thurmont or church league basketball. Matthew was a lover of the water and watersports as well. Because of his great love of baseball and because of his love of all sports, the recipient of this scholarship should be an athlete of any caliber or sport. The only other prerequisite being that they live life to the fullest, enjoying whatever God given abilities they’ve been gifted.

a. Recipient shall be enrolled as a student at Frederick Community College.
b. Recipient must be enrolled in at least: six (6) credits.
c. Recipient shall be a graduate of a Frederick County high school with priority given to a graduate of Urbana High School.
d. Recipient shall be a high school athlete with priority given to a baseball player.
e. Recipient will be required to write a thank you letter to the Donor and deliver the letter to the Foundation office within one (1) month of notification of the award.
